Our Personalised Admissions Process
Saltus has ‘rolling admissions’, meaning we consider applications throughout the year, depending on available spaces. 

Choosing a school can be one of the biggest decisions a family makes. Our Enrolment Management team at Saltus is available at all times throughout the year to  answer any questions you may have. Our goal is to introduce you to our programme while getting to know you and your family better. 

You could attend an in-person tour, a virtual meeting, or come to one of our open houses.  Please simply let us know your availability and we will schedule the opportunity that works best for you.

  • How many students attend Saltus?

    We have 785 students who represent approximately 25 different countries from around the world.
  • What is the average class size at Saltus?

    Average class sizes vary from 18-22 students depending on the year group. Typically Saltus offers three (3) classes/groupings per year group in our Primary Department, each with a full time classroom teacher who is supported by teaching assistants as well as specialty subject teachers.  Class sizes vary in Middle and Senior school depending on subject.
  • When is the best time to apply to Saltus?

    Our school year starts in September and we have a rolling admissions process so consider applications throughout the year, as long as there are spaces available.

    As a general process, Primary (JK - Grade 5) applications are reviewed October through January and Secondary (Grade 6 - SGY2) applications are reviewed January through March. 
  • What curriculum does Saltus follow?

    We are incredibly excited to implement the BC Curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 9. This milestone is a testament to our commitment to providing a world-class education, blending academic excellence with innovative teaching practices. Our dual accreditation with Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS) and the New England Accredited Schools & Colleges (NEASC), means that you can rest assured that your child is receiving the highest quality education that meets rigorous international standards.

    Through BC’s rigorous competency-based curriculum, students can engage in rich learning opportunities that deepen their understanding of phenomena, concepts and ideas of the world around them. At the Primary School level our Reggio-inspired approach continues to focus on age-appropriate experiential and competency-based learning practices that support their learning as they progress through the Upper Primary and Middle grades. At the Senior grades, a flexible approach which includes numerous internal and Advanced Placement (AP) course options to prepare students for a variety of post-secondary opportunities.

  • How many qualified teachers are working at Saltus?

    We have 90 qualified teachers and 60 support staff.
  • What are the schools’ operating hours?

    Saltus has two campuses dedicated to educating our students. Both campuses open between 7:45 am and 8:00 am with regular classes ending between 2:50 pm and 3:30 pm daily.  For an additional charge, we have an After-School Programme for our Lower Primary and Upper Primary students provided until 5:30 pm while school is in session.

    Saltus students are routinely accepted at their first-choice universities around the world. Please visit our University Guidance webpage to see where our graduates are attending.

  • Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten

    Step 1) Complete our online application by clicking on the APPLY NOW button. You will need to create an account on SaltusLive and note that we do not have an application fee. 

    Step 2) Our Enrolment Management team will reach out to schedule a meeting and will send you our required documents.

    Step 3) Submit the required forms:
    • Parent Questionnaire
    • Nursery Information
    • Proof of age
    Our Academic Directors review all completed applications and may require additional information or an in-person meeting.


  • Grade 1 - SGY2

    Step 1) Complete our online application by clicking on the APPLY NOW button. You will need to create an account on SaltusLive and note that we do not have an application fee. 

    Step 2) Our Enrolment Management team will reach out to schedule a meeting and will send you our required documents.

    Step 3) Submit the required forms:
    • Parent Questionnaire
    • Student Questionnaire
    • Teacher Recommendation
    • Recent School report
    • Proof of Age
    • Academic Assessments (if applicable): Please send any standardised test results or any behavioural/educational assessment report. 
    Our Academic Directors review all completed applications and may require additional information or an in-person meeting.



Financial Assistance
There are many financial opportunities available to attend Saltus and we encourage people to apply. Most opportunities are available for students entering the Middle and Senior grades. To see if you qualify for Financial Assistance you must complete the FAST application.
